Web video streaming
Appearance

Applies to HMP400/W, iBX410/W, iBX440, and third-party DSOS players. It requires KIOSK Feature Set or higher.
Overview
Web Video Streaming allows HMP400/W, iBX410/W, iBX440, and third-party DSOS players to display streaming content from websites such as YouTube, Vimeo, or other HTML5-based video platforms. Unlike network stream input, which uses IP streaming protocols (RTSP, RTP, UDP, SRT), web streaming relies on the embedded HTML5 rendering engine (based on Chromium) to play video and audio content directly from web pages.
Use cases:
- Display YouTube videos or playlists in signage layouts.
- Embed live streams from platforms that provide HTML5 players.
- Integrate web-based video widgets into your content.
Notes:
- Ads, autoplay restrictions, or login requirements may affect playback. Heavy web pages can impact rendering performance.
- Some website might require a minimum browser version – make sure to have the latest firmware version on your player.
- Capturing and replaying video or streaming content from sites like YouTube and Vimeo, might be prohibited (intellectual property rights, non-commercial usage, etc.) outside their website or apps, so make sure to check their legal terms in advance.
- Web streaming doesn't work on HMP350 and HMP300 – that's because the HTML engine of these models cannot render the stream in real-time. A possible workaround is to download those video(s) locally (using browser add-ons, extension etc.) and then import the video into your Elementi project or upload it onto the player web interface.
Configuration

- Create an Elementi project or open an existing one.
- Add a web page layer to your layout.
- Enter the URL of the streaming page (e.g., YouTube video link).
- Adjust size and position within your layout.
- Test playback on the player.

Troubleshooting
- Video not playing: Check if the website supports HTML5 and if autoplay is allowed.
- Black screen or errors: Verify network connectivity and update the firmware.
- Slow performance: Reduce layout complexity or use lighter web pages.
