Description

A factory reset, also known as a master reset, does a software-restore of an electronic device by erasing all the user data and settings saved on the device in an attempt to restore it to its original manufacturer settings. It is often done to fix an issue with a device, or due to the lost of the administrator password.

There are two ways to reset a player to its factory default settings, depending on whether you have physical access and / or network access to the player:

Note Warning:
A factory reset should be performed with caution, as it effectively erase all the data and settings saved on the device, such as: user passwords, user content (including cache, custom fonts), player logs, etc.
Note Note:
A factory reset doesn't change the player firmware. See how to revert to factory default firmware.
