Analytics widgets are a category of SpinetiX data-driven widgets designed to display data visualizations and insights from business intelligence platforms. These widgets enable users to integrate dashboards, charts, and reports directly into their digital signage content, making it easier to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and metrics in real time.

Use cases:

  • Displaying sales performance dashboards in retail stores
  • Sharing operational KPIs in manufacturing environments
  • Visualizing financial metrics in corporate offices
  • Monitoring service performance in customer support centers

Currently, this category includes support for Microsoft Power BI, with more integrations planned for the future.

The Power BI widget allows you to embed live Power BI reports and dashboards into your Elementi projects. This is ideal for organizations that rely on Power BI for business analytics and want to securely share insights across their digital signage network.

Key features:

  • Display live Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Secure access via Microsoft account authentication
  • Support for dashboards and reports from your workspaces or from direct link sharing

Requirements

Secure data access

Microsoft Power BI data can be accessed via the "Connectors" service, which is part of the SpinetiX Hub platform. To ensure that data is securely transmitted and displayed, you need to designate a SpinetiX cloud account that will maintain the connection to your Power BI data.

Get started

  1. Click the "Projects" tab in the Browse panel.
  2. Create a new Elementi project or open an existing one. Make sure your project is linked to a SpinetiX cloud account.
  3. The project's main index file is opened by default. If needed, open the file that should contain the “Power BI” widget.
  4. Click the "Widgets" tab in the Browse panel to find all the collections of widgets included with your Elementi version/type.

If it's not the case, for instance, the URL starts with https://app.powerbi.com/links/... or it is completely different because your organization uses a tool for URL scanning and rewriting, such as Safe Links of Microsoft Defender for Office 365, then, you must do the following:

  1. Open the link you received in your browser.
  2. Sign in with your existing Power BI account.
  3. Check that you can view the report/dashboard, and that the URL in the address bar has the format mentioned above.
  4. Copy the URL from your browser address field.

Then, within Elementi:
