Description
This tutorial explains how to use large videos, that have been cut into several video tiles outside Elementi, within a multiscreen playlist.
Tutorial
For each group of video tiles, follow these steps:
- Create a new multiscreen layout.
- Make sure that "Create a master layout" option is not selected.
- Set the format to "One Screen", "All Screens", or "Subset of Screens", depending on the size that your video covers.
- If you are using Elementi 3.x, you will need to use a custom resolution and compute its size using the rules described in the Canvas size section.
- Double-click on the layout icon in the Browse panel to open the newly created layout.
- Import the video tiles into the layout.
- Drag & drop the video tiles to their correct position within the layout.
- Elementi 2015 or later lets you easily position the video tiles using a magnet around the screen borders. You can also use the Layer Properties to position each video tile manually.
- Make sure to select 'Play once' for each video file.
- The duration of the Layout is automatically computed from the duration of the video files in Elementi 2015 or later.
- If using an older version, you need to manually set the duration of the layout to be the same as the video file using the layout properties.
- Save the layout.
Once the steps above have been done for each group of video tiles, do the following:
- Open the multiscreen playlist.
- Drag & drop the layout folder directly into the playlist.
- The duration of the video file must be indicated. If this is not the case, you will need to edit the layout properties to make sure that a duration is set.
- If you are using Elementi 3.x, you may need to drag & drop your layout a second time into the playlist for the duration change to be taken into account.
