This tutorial explains how to use large videos that have been cut into several video tiles, within a multiscreen playlist.

For each group if video tiles, follow these steps:

  1. Create a new multiscreen layout.
    • Select the target size of your video (i.e. "All Screens" or "Subset of Screens").
If you are using Elementi 3.X, you will need to use a Custom resolution and compute its size using the rules described in the Canvas size section.
    • Make sure that "Create only SVG file" is not selected.
  2. Double-click on the layout icon in the Browse panel to open the newly created layout.
  3. Import the video tiles into the layout.
  4. Drag & drop the video tiles at their correct position within the layout. You can also use the Layer Properties to position each video tile.
    • Elementi 2015 lets you easily position the video tiles using a magnet around the screen borders.
  5. Make sure to select 'Play once' for each video file.
Elementi 2015 will automatically compute the duration of the Layout from the duration of the video files. If you are not using Elementi 2015, you will need to manually set the duration of the layout to be the same as the video file using the layout properties.
  6. Save the layout.

Once the steps above have been done for each group of video tiles, do the following:

  1. Open the multiscreen playlist.
  2. Drag & drop the layout folder directly into the playlist.
    • The duration of the video file must be indicated. If this is not the case you will need to edit the layout properties to make sure that a duration is set.
    • If you are using Elementi 3.X, you may need to drag & drop your layout a second time into the playlist for the duration change to be taken into account.
