Description

The "Content" page of Control Center may contain up to three sections, depending on the player model:

  • Scheduled Download
  • Live Sources
  • Splash Screens.

Scheduled Download

Content - Scheduled Download

Applies to all DSOS players, except DiVA.

Scheduled Download feature can be used to retrieve content from a remote web server, in a scheduled manner (daily or hourly) or on demand. This feature requires a DSOS WIDGETS license or higher.

Note
See the full article on Scheduled Download.

Live Sources

Content - Live sources

Applies to HMP350 and HMP300 players.

Live Source is a content pull method whereby the player is requesting and displaying an entire project located on a remote content server. After configuring a Live Source, it can be activated within the content scheduling tool.

Note
See the full article on Live Source.

Splash Screens

Applies to all DSOS players.

Splash Screens

This section allows configuring custom splash screen images to be used by the player during boot, shutdown, or firmware update sequences. For that, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Change" button corresponding to the splash screen to modify.
  2. Browse for a JPEG or PNG image, no larger than 1 MB in size.
  3. Click the "Open" button to set the new splash screen image.

To restore the default splash screen images, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Operations" menu and then on "Reset".
  2. Select "Splash screen" checkbox.
  3. Click on the "Clear Selected" button.
Note Note:
The recommended image resolution for boot splash screen is 640x480 pixels, to match the lowest output resolution of the player. Bigger resolutions are also accepted, but since the image is centered without scaling, it might not be displayed entirely. For instance, let's say you have set a 1920x1080 px image as boot splash screen and 1080p as display resolution. When the player boots, the display resolution is firstly set to 640x480 and therefore the splash screen will be a cropped area of 640x480 pixels from the original image (relatively to its center). This will be displayed on the entire screen (probably stretched). Only after the display resolution is set to 1080p, the entire image will be shown.
