Cloud Maintenance March 2022

Summary

The SpinetiX cloud infrastructure hosting SpinetiX ARYA and the SpinetiX activate site will be down for maintenance on Sunday March 27th for approximately 4 hours, to deploy significant infrastructure updates, starting at 15:00 UTC.

As part of the infrastructure updates some of the network names used by SpinetiX ARYA will change. Any deployments which have set up special network firewall rules for ARYA you may need to update them to ensure no problems will arise after we do the updates; read on for the details.

Downtime

At SpinetiX we are committed on improving our cloud offerings to provide you with the best possible service in the industry. In the past we have managed to keep updating SpinetiX ARYA and SpinetiX activate sites without any significant downtime. In order to pave the way for future growth we need to have a longer down time on this particular occasion as we deploy significant infrastructure updates.

During this maintenance window SpinetiX ARYA will be inaccessible; users will not be able to use the service to modify content, schedule, trigger alerts, check player previews, or do any other operations. The SpinetiX activate site will also be inaccessible and users will not be able to manage DSOS licenses, or do any other operations. Users will be able to resume all these operations right after the maintenance window ends.

Please note that any DSOS players already connected to SpinetiX ARYA will continue to play their previously scheduled content as usual and without interruption during the maintenance window.

Network changes

As part of the infrastructure updates, some Internet names used to provide background ARYA services change, most notably for content upload and download by both players and browsers.

The change consists in moving some server names to be under the services.spinetix.com domain, which was already being used for most of the background ARYA services. This change will not affect any deployments on which outgoing Internet connections are unrestricted. It will not impact any deployments on which outgoing Internet connections are restricted, but special firewall rules have been set up for SpinetiX ARYA according to the ARYA specific recommendations in the Network ports page, namely allowing connections to any names under the services.spinetix.com domain.

At a later date will be also introducing *.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com and *.s3-accelerate.dualstack.amazonaws.com to bring improved performance throughout the world, now it is a good time to update your firewall rules to be ready for the future.

The detailed Internet name changes are as follows.

• Effective immediately after the infrastructure update.
  • The media.services.spinetix.com name used in addition to d2pjmjss670frh.cloudfront.net for media access from web clients and content update operations (i.e. publish) from DSOS players, via TLS over TCP port 443 with HTTP GET.
• Effective at a later date.
  • Names matching the *.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com and *.s3-accelerate.dualstack.amazonaws.com patterns can be used in addition to s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com to upload content from web clients, via TLS over TCP port 443 with HTTP PUT, POST and DELETE.
  • Names matching the *.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com and *.s3-accelerate.dualstack.amazonaws.com patterns can be used in addition to s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com for support and content previews from DSOS players, via TLS over TCP port 443 with HTTP PUT, POST and DELETE.
