Introduction

The known issues related to the 3.x releases of HMP firmware and Elementi 3.x software are listed below. Unless noted otherwise, a known issue reported for a certain version applies to the previous versions as well.

HMP firmware 3.x

Firmware 3.3.0

  • HMP will reboot whenever an MPEG2 transport stream is used with rtp:// or udp:// url, independently of the codec. This affects only version 3.3.0.

Firmware 3.2.2 and earlier

There are currently no know issues with this firmware version.

Firmware 3.2.1 and earlier

There are currently no know issues with this firmware version.

Firmware 3.2.0 and earlier

  • Data feed parsers no longer support selecting the type of the specified output column. This affects only version 3.2.0.
    This is of importance especially in the case of selecting date as data type. Note that for RFC822 and ISO8601 date format, this has no influence on the rendered content; for other date formats, the field must be formated with a date parser or a custom parser within Elementi 2015.
  • Enabling display power save, automatically enables the serial port. Disabling the serial port automatically disables the display power save.

Firmware 3.1.1 and earlier

  • (#3885) The clocks are not displaying the correct time for timezones specified with the UTC prefix (e.g., "UTC+02:00"). The workaround is to use a named timezone (e.g., "Berlin").

Firmware 3.1.0 and earlier

  • (#3774) The iCalendar parser doesn't return any data when setting the end date as "Indefinite". This regression affects only version 3.1.0.
  • (#3775) The callback function for jSignage $.get() might not be executed if the call is not wrapped into an on-load handler. This regression affects only version 3.1.0.
    The workaround is to add the call to the $.get() into an on-load handler, i.e.
    $(function(){
        // ...
        $.get( url, parameters );
        // ...
    });

Firmware 3.0.6 and earlier

  • Failure to access an HTTPS URI when the server SSL certificate was generated using sha256WithRSAEncryption algorithm - the solution is to use sha1WithRSAEncryption algorithm when generating the certificate.
  • Fusion is not detecting options that are using id attribute (as it is the case for the Inline Text Ticker widget) - the solution is to change that attribute to xml:id.

Firmware 3.0.5 and earlier

  • (#3615) postURL() function does not work starting with firmware 3.0.3.

Firmware 3.0.3 and earlier

  • (#3420) Scheduled event doesn't start in certain conditions. This regression affects only firmware 3.0.3.
    As workaround, use the calendar_default.svg (can be empty) or add in your calendar an "empty" event that is always present (i.e., from 01.01 to 31.12, repeats yearly) with a lower priority (i.e. higher number) than the other events.

Firmware 3.0.1 and earlier

  • (#3227) When using FSM files, the null character (%c{0}) is not sent (actually it acts as the end of the message that is sent).
  • (#3217) When using scheduling in Fusion, the player restarts when there's nothing left to play - to avoid this, ensure that at least one media is active.

Firmware 3.0.0 and earlier

  • (#3082) When sending a set_config RPC command, if the "xmlconfig" parameter is not correct (e.g., the <configuration> element doesn't have the version attribute) or the configuration change does not trigger a player reboot, the response might wrongly contain the following error: Property "ConfigBackup.needreload" is not defined.
    Note that the configuration changes are usually applied, regardless of this error being reported.
    This issue affects only the 3.0.0 firmware.
  • (#3083) When restoring a configuration backup, all parameters under <display-video-mode> element are ignored.
    This issue affects only the 3.0.0 firmware.
    As workaround, to set the resolution using a backup file you can use the <display-custom-video-mode> element.
    • use <display-custom-video-mode>1280 720 60 220 110 20 5 40 5 ++ p</display-custom-video-mode> for 720p 60Hz
    • use <display-custom-video-mode>1920 1080 60 148 88 36 4 44 5 ++ p</display-custom-video-mode> for 1080p 60Hz
  • (#3122) Updating the firmware might fail when using a proxy to access the update server.
    This issue affects only the 3.0.0 firmware.
    The solution is to use another firmware update method or not to use the proxy.

Fusion related

  • (#3114) When configuring a Skin / Template that uses inner SVG documents with Fusion options, the group title for those options might wrongly be displayed as a JSON string. The solution is to add a <title> element inside the inner SVG document.
  • (#3134) When using a template composed of multiple SVG files, the name of the slide based on this template needs to be left unchanged (no renaming or copying) otherwise the inner SVG files are not linked correctly.
  • (#3153) Default duration of a Program is wrongly applied for media items for which a lower duration than the default one was entered.
    Note that this doesn't apply when the specified duration is bigger than the default one.
    This issue affects only the 3.0.0 firmware.
  • (#3200) Program Scheduling - the selection of valid days for a certain media is correctly saved, but not loaded when the scheduling page is reopened. Therefore a further save will remove the previous selection.

Elementi 3.x

Version 3.1.1 and earlier

  • (#3884) The clocks are not displaying the correct time when the timezone is set. Note that the time is correct on the HMP side (except for timezones specified with the UTC prefix). This regression affects only version 3.1.1.

Version 3.1.0 and earlier

  • (#3774) The iCalendar parser doesn't return any data when setting the end date as "Indefinite". This regression affects only version 3.1.0.
  • (#3775) The callback function for jSignage $.get() might not be executed the call is not wrapped into an on-load handler. This regression affects only version 3.1.0.
    The solution is to add the call to the $.get() into an on-load handler, as explained above.
  • (#3779) Elementi crashes when trying to add an additional screen into Custom Multiscreen Layout. This regression affects only version 3.1.0.

Version 3.0.3 and earlier

  • (#3420) Scheduled event doesn't start in certain conditions. This regression affects only version 3.0.3.
    As workaround, use the calendar_default.svg (can be empty) or add in your calendar an "empty" event that is always present (i.e., from 01.01 to 31.12, repeats yearly) with a lower priority (i.e. higher number) than the other events.

Version 3.0.1 and earlier

  • Default Elementi project wellness is showing an error when opened.
  • File to Playlist widget never re-scan the folder (even when set not to loop) if the folder is empty.

Version 3.0.0

  • (#3094) When using the path option for the JSON parser (within a feeds widget), nothing is returned due to a bug in the jSignage library.
  • (#3115) Using the "Media Fit" or "Media Align" options on certain SVG animations (e.g, not containing any user editable properties) is causing an application crash.
  • (#3130) When scheduling an event using "Local time" as time zone (the default value), the event is wrongly displayed one hour later in case the local time zone has daylight saving time active. Note that the event start / end dates are correctly kept, so there's no need to modify the event.
    • Workaround: set the time zone of the event to your actual time zone (e.g., Europe > Zurich).
  • (#3156) Displaying files from a certain path with the File Playist widget doesn't work as expected when both video files and image files are present, meaning that the video is played for the default duration (and not for its length).
