Elementi 2025 Update 1

Version: "Castor" 4.9.1.39280
Release date: July 8th, 2025

Improvements

  • Replaced the Codec menu by a Video Encoding Quality menu that allows the user to select between three levels of video encoding quality (Good, High and Higher), the higher the selected quality the slower the conversion is.
  • Elementi now reports more details about the cloud accounts the logged-in user has access to, including the ARYA plan of each account.
  • Use the S3 dual-stack (IPv4 and IPv6) endpoints for “Send to cloud” publishing.
  • Added a Kazakh translation.

Fixes

  • On publish, the check of channels and data connections was done against the currently open project instead of the selected project.
  • When logging out and back in as another user, or changing cloud accounts, data connections remained cached, leading to errors when attempting to use the data connection due to incorrect parameters being used.
  • The video output configuration information in projects for multi-screen and multi-output scenarios was not always correct, leading to incorrect output, performance problems in players, or even crashes.
  • Custom HTTP headers were not passed to the HTTP request when the data source was CSV.

Elementi 2025

Elementi 2025 (64-bit)
Version: "Castor" 4.9.0.39260
Release date: June 5th, 2025

New

  • Support for the new cloud service called “Connectors”, part of the upcoming SpinetiX Hub platform, providing users with more options for data integration and visualization, such as the Power BI connector. Content created using the new data connectors requires DSOS 4.8.4 or later to run on devices, and the players must be managed with SpinetiX ARYA™. The legacy data connectors platform remains available for use in existing projects and legacy setups.

Widgets:

  • New Analytics (Power BI) and SharePoint News widgets.
  • Support for obtaining PDF versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files stored on SharePoint and OneDrive, allowing the display of such files on the player.
  • Rebranded the Yammer widgets to Viva Engage widgets to accommodate the new name of this Microsoft service. These widgets require DSOS 4.8.4 or later, as modern Viva Engage support works with the new platform of data connectors.

Multimedia:

  • Support for High dynamic range (HDR) decoding and rendering. The HDR mode is enabled within the properties of the Elementi project. For non-HDR projects, HDR videos are imported using tone mapping.
  • Support for AOMedia Video 1 (AV1) codec and importing AV1 videos with proper transcoding for player models which do not support AV1.
  • Support for AV1 Image File Format (AVIF).
  • Support for ICC profiles in PNG and JPEG images for wide-gamut color support. These images are converted to standard gamut on non-HDR projects.

Multiscreen

  • Elementi now generates the multi-output screen configuration to be seamlessly used by iBX440 players (running DSOS 4.9.x) for dynamic reconfiguration of video outputs, thus eliminating the need for creating specific configuration files.

Improvements

  • Updated the HTML rendering engine to CEF / Chromium 126.
  • Updated FFmpeg to version 5.1 for improved HDR video support.
  • Support for subtitles encoded directly in the video stream.
  • Updated the 2D graphics rendering engine to Skia 119.
  • Changed the placeholder URL for jSignage libraries from http to https to avoid false positives from security scanners; the URL is only a placeholder as the libraries are local to Elementi and DSOS.
  • Elementi now allows forcing high or low DPI mode, overriding the auto-selected mode.
  • Various minor UI changes to align terminology with current use (Feature Set, models other than HMP, etc.).
  • Updated translations.

Widgets:

  • Reorganized the built-in collection of widgets for ease of use and clarity, with distinct new folder icons for data-driven widgets and interactive widgets.
  • Improved support for files on SharePoint and OneDrive by obtaining direct URLs, instead of redirect ones, which reduces display latency and supports partial downloads.
  • Support for new Unicode CLDR date formatting fields: w (week of year), W (week of month), Y (year in "Week of Year" based calendars), D (day of year).
  • The data feed widgets now allow selecting multiple calendars.

Fixes

  • USB keyboard events could fail to work within a playlist.
  • A manually set duration of an image layer was lost when the media is changed.
  • The time simulator was reset when restarting to play.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur with schedules at midnight.
  • The default audio demuxing buffer size used in Elementi did not match the one used by the target player model for the project, making it harder to diagnose audio problems.
  • The layer's duration popup showed the truncate time misaligned.
  • If the cloud log-in token becomes invalid, Elementi would be stuck without letting the user log in again.
