Most deployments of HMPs will require at least some basic network setup to enable communication between your publish source (e.g. HMD, or a WebDAV server) and possibly the internet, if you are using online content. The HMP and HMD software make this easy by supporting the zeroconf suite, which allows for device discovery out-of-the-box on most standard networks.
